The Government of India launched the New National Education Policy (NEP 2020) on 29th July 2020. It replaced the 1986 National Policy on Education (revised in 1992). The main aim of NEP 2020 is to make India’s education system holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary, and aligned with global standards.

T. S. Subramaniyan Committee (2016)
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) formed this committee in 2015 to draft a New Education Policy.
Committee Chairman: T. S. R. Subramaniyan (Former Cabinet Secretary).
It submitted its report in May 2016, recommending wide-ranging reforms in education.
However, the Government did not adopt this report as a draft.

Formed by the MHRD in 2015 to draft a New Education Policy.
Chairman: T. S. R. Subramanian (Former Cabinet Secretary).

भारत सरकार ने 29 जुलाई 2020 को नई राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति (NEP 2020) जारी की। यह 1986 की नीति (1992 में संशोधित) के बाद पहली बार आई नई शिक्षा नीति है। इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य भारत की शिक्षा प्रणाली को सर्वांगीण, लचीला, बहु-विषयी और वैश्विक मानकों के अनुरूप बनाना है। शिक्षा व्यवस्था को 21वीं सदी की आवश्यकताओं के अनुरूप बनाना है। इसमें स्कूली शिक्षा से लेकर उच्च शिक्षा तक अनेक सुधार किए गए हैं।

टी. एस. सुब्रमण्यम समिति (2016):
मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय (MHRD) ने 2015 में नई शिक्षा नीति बनाने हेतु इस समिति का गठन किया।
• समिति के अध्यक्ष: टी. एस. आर. सुब्रमण्यम (पूर्व कैबिनेट सचिव)। • इसने मई 2016 में अपनी रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत की, जिसमें शिक्षा में व्यापक सुधारों की सिफारिशें थीं। • लेकिन, सरकार ने इस रिपोर्ट को ड्राफ्ट के रूप में स्वीकार नहीं किया।
